Bruce’s TIP OF THE WEEK #23 of 156
Service: anticipating needs

AN EXPERIENCED locker room attendant knows ahead of time what to expect in the daily routine and thus is able to better service the members and guest by anticipating their needs.

EXAMPLES INCLUDE knowing that the guests usually ask the location of the restroom and pro shop the attendant lets them know in advance when assiging lockers.  Shower towels are placed on the benches after the round instead of making the golfers go get them if a distance.  During tour events plastic bags are set next to the beverage cooler so the pros don’t have to ask for one. Shoe laces/golf spikes are replaced without being requested.

ANTICIPATING NEEDS is a combination of common sense, a desire to do a good job and repetition.
