Bruce’s TIP OF THE WEEK #31 of 156
Service: attendant should be on duty

I WAS SURPRISED at first to learn that not all private golf and country club locker rooms have an attendant on duty before the first golfer arrives to after the last golfer is off the course. My concern is there being a lack of service for the members and guests.

WHILE I AGREE that a salaried locker room manager is expected to and should work longer hours during the peak season, overdoing it is not wise either. Having qualified and dependable hourly assistants helping with the opening, closing and busy times (without overtime pay) is one solution.  I must admit, though, I have never been a GM dealing with budget constraints.

SERVICE EXPECTATIONS along with cost to join the club, monthly dues and annual locker fees are additional reasons why an attendant should be on duty.
