ONE CANNOT HAVE a chip on their shoulder if want to work at a private golf and country club. A simple question to ask during the interview process would be, “Do you think it is fair that the members here are so wealthy?” If the applicant does not mention that perhaps the reason for their wealth is hard work, lots of hours on the job, many years of college and a willingness to take financial risks then they are not a good canidate for the job.
GOOD EMPLOYEES are personable and service oriented. They do a good job becasue they want to and not just becasue they are suposed to do so. They like to wait on people and it brings them personal satisfaction and meaning. They do not avoid interaction with the members and guest but look forward to it, while at the same maintaining professionalism. They do not cross the line between member and employee relationships. Some would actually rather provide service than be waited on.
